===== log of events =====
  *05/30/2007 Drive 13 offline.  Action: Re-seated drive; will replace on 2nd error.
  * 09/06/2007 Drive 3 offline.  Action: Re-seated drive; will replace on 2nd error.
  * 11/20/2007 Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology (SMART) drive error on drive 1 (indicating possible future failure.)  Action: Re-seated drive; will replace on 2nd error.
  * 12/04/2007 /home/facultystaff partition journal abort causing it to be automatically remounted read only.  Action: reboot server and run fsck to restore the partition.
  * 12/11/2007 /home/grad partition journal abort causing it to be automatically remounted read only.  Action: reboot server and run fsck to restore the partition. Action: reboot server and run fsck to restore the partition and replaced disk 1 with new drive though no other indication showed it had errors.  On reboot, all partitions ran fsck as it had been 187 days since last check.
  * 12/13/2007 /home/grad partition journal abort causing it to be automatically remounted read only.  Action: reboot server and run fsck to restore the partition.  Took system back down including disk array and reseated all drives cleaning dust out of disk array box.
  * 12/14/2007 Drive 3 off-line.  Action: Replaced with original disk 1 from 12/11/2007 swap.  This drive probably needs to be replaced with a new one since is gave 1 SMART error.
  * 6/23/2011
  * 8/10/2011 Disk6 Reported an ATA error...this is a failure in the communications from the RAID controller to the Drive.
